When Sofia Siikarla, owner of Levi Alpine Chalet’s, first arrived at Pöntsövaara’s peak, she knew she had found the perfect place. As she looked upon the Arctic landscape, peace and beauty enveloped her. The fell offered boundless vistas, white snow as far as the eye could see, and the distant silhouette of a national park. This, she realized, would be the unique Arctic hideaway she wanted to share with the world.
Unique Arctic Spot into a Haven Tailored for Travelers
On the top of Pöntsövaara’s peak stood a uniquely designed log cabin. Its proud owner, Jukka Wuolijoki, a former high government official, had built a peaceful escape amidst Lapland’s natural wonders, just a stone’s throw away from essential amenities. Much like Sofia, he too had already years ago fallen under the spell of Pöntsövaara’s natural beauty. Negotiations began, and after many twists and turns, Sofia secured her dream destination.
What ultimately sealed the deal for Sofia and Jukka was their shared love for Lapland’s wilderness, mutual enchantment with Pöntsövaara’s uniqueness, and Sofia’s unwavering determination. Now, with the same determination, Sofia, an experienced hospitality and hotel entrepreneur, has transformed this unique arctic spot into a haven tailored for travelers.
